At present, Five-S has cleared and is grubbing approximately thirty acres of trees on the East side of Barnett Road as the beginning phase of the Comite River Diversion Channel Reach 1 Project. Marketable trees are being hauled off for re-purposing. To date, two environmental inspections have been performed without any environmental concerns being reported.
Safety, as always, is our number one core value at the center of this project. Daily safety meetings are being performed by SSHO along with consistent equipment inspections and proper maintenance procedures. Five-S can report on zero recordable safety incidents thus far with over two thousand man-hours and over twelve hundred equipment hours.

Quarterly Helping Hands Project
For Q1 2024, Five-S and The Southern Stone Company will be holding food drives at all of our locations to donate to local food banks. Each quarter, we select a worthy cause and spend the months within that quarter raising awareness and collecting donations for our selected recipient. Is it our hope to make a large impact and remind ourselves that there is nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer who can give a helping hand.
