Job Summary:
The Cost Analyst for Five-S will develop and implement accounting cost control procedures through evaluating the schedule, changes and forecast for each project. Will oversee all the costs related to each project awarded to achieve project goals. Responsible for tracking and reporting accurate financials in a timely manner, delivering key documentation and recommendations to the operations department. This position will report to the Project Controls Manager and will office in Baton Rouge, LA.
Job Responsibilities but not limited to:
· Provide accurate assessment of project costs against the budget, progress achieved, variances and forecast actuals versus budgeted cost.
· Confirm that lien waivers are received from contractors and subcontractors for project payments.
· Reviews each project and estimates cash flow, contract terms, change orders in detail for financial risk and opportunities.
· Monitor and maintain proper cost metrics for reporting values.
· Review and reconcile job cost in the system to the required journal entries ensuring accurate accounting.
· Establish a quantity tracking system and provide detailed tracking to compare estimated quantities.
· Track performance of construction projects by analyzing budgets versus actual performance.
· Ensure job scope changes are identified, evaluated, documented, and approved prior to implementation.
· Analyze and effectively communicate the financial results of projects to management.
· Oversee regular cost reporting on a weekly, and monthly basis and assist in the month end project reporting requirements.
· Assist in maintaining the project filing system, distribution process and auditing to ensure operations department is using correct and accurate documents.
· Ensure proper cost codes are used in the system for reporting time and job activities.
· Support strategic cost management improvements for projects.
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree.
· Experience working in a job role with financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
· 5 years of relevant working experience in the construction industry.
· Preferred experience working in civil construction.
· Preferred experience working in Vista Viewpoint Software.
· Ability to effectively use Microsoft suites and other accounting software.
· Advanced understanding of project cost, scheduling, planning, and contract management.
· Must have a valid driver's license.
· Ability to successfully complete a drug test.
· Ability to effectively communicate verbally and written in a professional manner.
· Must have excellent time management, organizational, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
